NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course
This is a handgun safety and shooting fundamentals course. This course is ideal for people who have no prior experience using pistols and/or revolvers and for those who have some experience, but are wanting to expand their knowledge and use of pistols and revolvers.
This is an 8-hour course, it includes classroom and range time learning to shoot pistols. We will cover:
Essential gun safety and handling rules
Different types of pistols/revolvers, how they operate, proper storing, and which one is best for you
Basics of ammunition and selection
Most common firearm malfunctions
Fundamentals of pistol shooting
Different shooting positions
Most common shooting errors
Proper gun cleaning and maintenance
Scoring Targets
Students will also complete a course of live fire
Additionally, we will also discuss how to maintain your skills, as well as many other areas of using a firearm. If you don’t own a firearm, .22 semi-auto pistols and ammo are supplied for anyone who needs or wants to use them, for the live course of fire portion of the class.
